How trained are we! 

SERVPRO of White Plains is proud to have technicians, estimators, project managers and our office staff educated and certified in Water Damage Restoration, Mold Restoration, Mold Remediation, Fire & Smoke Damage Restoration, Health & Safety, Applied Structural Drying from the IICRC after taking classes and (hard) tests. We are also a Certified Firm and have certificates from the EPA in Lead Safe and an OSHA certificate.  

 We invest in training and development for our team so that we can offer you the best of the best.  

The IICRC is an accredited Standards Developing Organization by the American National Standards Institute  

What does that mean? Glad you asked. The IICRC is the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification, a non-profit organization for the Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration Industries. The IICRC, originally named the International Institute of Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning Inc. (IICUC), was founded in 1972 by Ed York. Since starting in 1972, the IICRC has evolved into a global organization with more than 49,000 active Certified Technicians and more than 6,500 Certified Firms around the world. 

The IICRC is managed by its Board of Directors, which is comprised of 15 industry leaders elected by the IICRC’s Shareholders. The Board of Directors’ function is to represent the various interests of the applicants while leading the direction of the organization. The Board of Directors meets four times per year and is tasked with the responsibility of helping shape future policies of the organization and uphold the standards that help shape the industry. Their mission is to establish and advance globally recognized standards, credentials, and certifications for the inspection, cleaning and restoration industries. 

Most insurance companies require that remediation and restoration companies like us, have IICRC certification. This helps to ensure the insurance companies that they only have trained skilled people writing estimates and remediating or reconstruction on the projects they insure.
