Loss of Heat Source during a Water Emergency

Through the frigid winter months, uninsulated and poorly placed water pipes become susceptible to freezing and breaking. There have been a few home or business owners these past few months who have come home or into work with water flooding into their respective spaces. They have called us here at SERVPRO of White Plains, after speaking to their plumbers, to come in and mitigate the water damage by removing affected materials such as drywall, ceilings, wood floors, cabinetry or any other material that was affected. When the removal of the affected materials was done we would then set up containment and drying equipment.

A few of these winter jobs have lost heat entirely and due to the frigid temperatures the home or business was put at risk of being damaged more. Fortunately here at SERVPRO of White Plains we are equipped with portable heaters called Firebirds to keep any home or business here in Westchester County and the surrounding area warm until the heating system lines are completely repaired and operational.  When using the portable heaters on site in your home or business, we are also able to using our drying equipment from air movers, dehumidifiers and wood floor drying mat systems. The Firebird portable heaters provide enough heat to allow us to continue drying out the structure with the other drying equipment. Your home or business will still be able to be cleaned up and dried out in a timely manner, with the use of the many tools we have here at SERVPRO of White Plains. “Like it never even happened."
